Transitions

The end of the academic year always brings many changes.  One of the changes for me and for Student Health this year is that I have decided to retire; my last day will be May 27th.

It’s been my pleasure to be the founder of Student Health ten years ago (Fall, 2000) and I have to admit SHW has grown way beyond my wildest expectations.  One of the great joys of Student Health is working with you, the students.  You bring always interesting questions and problems and it is very rewarding to be able to help in whatever ways we can.  For those of you we see over the years, it’s a joy to see your academic and personal growth and hopefully improved health.  Your ideas and idealism and energy always give me hope for the future.

Be assured that SHW will continue to provide health services to students.  Rick Lister, MSN, FNP will be the acting administrator until the position is filled.  SHW may be a little short-staffed until all positions are filled; please be patient.  All of Student Health is committed to meeting our mission of “providing quality health care and health promotion that maximizes student learning potential”.

There will be a small retirement reception for me on May 26th from 3:30 to 5.  You are more than welcome to come by.

Best wishes for your academic and personal lives and for your health.  Thank you for your trust and support over the years.

Sincerely,  Sandra Handley, Ph.D., RN, FNP-BC
