The Outreach Committee is proud to be a Page Sponsor for the Run for Reading 5K benefiting Pages and Chapters. This local nonprofit organization that who works with families in the Waldo/Brookside area and east of Troost Ave to promote literacy was founded in 2011 by Jenny Jackaway. Jackaway is an elementary school teacher and UMKC School of Education alum. The organization works with families, not just students, in all areas of literacy, especially reading, writing, speaking and listening.
We are also sponsoring a team of volunteers and up to five runners/walkers for the Run for Reading 5k on Saturday, November 3.
