Kimberly Swanson Church, Ph.D. (Henry W. Bloch School of Management)
Dr. Kimberly Swanson Church comes to us from the University of Arkansas (2010) and is starting her second semester at UMKC as an Assistant Professor of Accounting. She currently teaches the undergraduate Accounting Information Systems and graduate IT Audit classes. On the side, Church is part owner in a family hunting business 2 hours south of Kansas City. Along with being a professor and business owner, Church has also been a trust tax preparer for the Kansas State University Foundation and served as an entry level accountant in the commodities industry. She hopes to bring her entrepreneurial experiences to the classroom and give accounting students a unique perspective of the information they are learning in the Bloch School.
Stephanie Frank, Ph.D. (Department of Architecture, Urban Planning + Design)
Dr. Stephanie Frank is the new Assistant Professor of Urban Planning and Design in the Department of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design. She holds a Ph.D. in Policy, Planning, and Development from the University of Southern California as well as a B.A. and an M.A. in American Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park. Frank is a planning historian interested in private, corporate, and industrial planning and urban development. Her current book project is on the role of the film industry in the urban development of metropolitan Los Angeles. Frank teaches courses on planning history, urban studies, housing, and historic preservation. She looks forward to participating in the growth of the Urban Planning and Design program.
