Kylie Barnes, Pharm.D. (School of Pharmacy)
Dr. Kylie Barnes received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Following graduation, Barnes completed her first post-graduate residency in pharmacy practice at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO, and a second residency in ambulatory care with the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. She was an Assistant Professor in the Pharmacy Practice Department at the University of Charleston School of Pharmacy from 2012 to 2013. Barnes’s current ambulatory care practice site is in primary care at the Kansas City Care Clinic, and she has a strong interest in women’s health. She is excited to be joining UMKC as Assistant Professor, and looks forward to helping shape the future of pharmacy.
Ambassador Allan Katz, a UMKC alum, returns as a Distinguished Professor. Ambassador Katz was appointed by Barack Obama to be the Ambassador of the United States of America to Portugal in 2009. Ambassador Katz worked as a lawyer, but stayed active in politics and helped draft the Democratic Party Platform in 2008. He is now working to start an institute for politics in Kansas City. As a professor at UMKC, he is most looking forward to becoming a part of the university community.
