UMKC Ranked Number 1 in National Recycling Competition

RecycleMania, an annual tournament promoting waste reduction in campus communities, released its 2013 competition results and ranked UMKC as the Grand Champion school out of 523 participating colleges and universities in the nation.  UMKC recycled 86% of its overall waste products during the 8-week competition.  In addition, UMKC reduced 360 metric tons of CO2 from being released into the air (the equivalent of 71 cars off the roads or the energy consumption of 31 households).

Thank you to all who participated in this effort and for helping us make UMKC a greener campus!
