Assessable Roo Newsletter December, 2012

I am pleased to share with you Issue 4 of our Assessable Roo Newsletter.  Featured writers for this issue include Barbara Glesner-Fines, who writes about the “curse” of covering too much material, and Diane Petrella, who describes the importance of achieving balance between formative and summative assessment.  This issue also includes important information about departmental assessment teams, posting learning outcomes on your department’s website, and an overview of scratch-off assessments (IFATs).

I want to thank Dan Stroud, my co-editor and graduate student extraordinaire, for his excellent work on all four issues of the Assessable Roo.  I also want to extend my thanks to the Assessment Coordinators for the terrific job they did on their WEAVE assessment plans this past year!

To learn more, read the Assessable Roo and visit the Academic Assessment website.

Nathan Lindsay, PhD, Assistant Vice Provost for Assessment
