Housing will include:

245 bedrooms
196 parking spaces
A fitness center
A meeting space
Courtyards with barbecue grills and outdoor tables

The Beacon Hill project on the east side of Troost Avenue between 24th and 25th streets will feature apartment-style housing, similar to Oak Place Apartments on the Volker campus.

A walkway will tie the new housing to the core of Hospital Hill, which includes UMKC’s schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing and Health Studies, and Pharmacy.

UMKC’s master plan calls for student housing near Hospital Hill to grow enrollment in its health professions schools and to boost other life science activities in the area.

City leaders have encouraged student housing to help revitalize Troost Avenue and surrounding neighborhoods and attract restaurants and stores to the area.
