My focus

My focus is on providing a service to the faculty and the university in protecting and licensing intellectual property.  We mainly receive in disclosures of inventions, but we can also protect software applications.  Promising technologies are then taken to startup or industry for partnering.  Our goal is to see UMKC technology utilized in products and services. 

Where I came from…

I was raised in Rolla, Missouri, schooled at the University of Missouri and practiced law, business development and technology transfer in Jefferson City, Rolla, and now Kansas City.

What I love about working in Research Administration…

What I love about working in Research Administration in technology transfer is that I get to see what is coming next.  The creative thought of our faculty and students builds an exciting and pleasurable work environment.

I enjoy my family, teaching, learning and a good game of racquetball.
