University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry professor Bill Brockmann died from a brief illness Wednesday. He was 63.
In 2004, he joined the faculty at UMKC where he taught pharmacology and dental therapeutics to pre-doctoral dental students, dental hygiene students and advanced education residents.
His wife, Lorraine Brockmann, also is a faculty member of the UMKC School of Dentistry. They have a daughter and son.
Bill Brockmann graduated from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Loyola University School of Dentistry. He practiced dentistry in Houston for 17 years.
Always a life-long learner, Brockmann returned to school at UMKC and received an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in 2004 in Pharmacology and Oral Biology.
Brockmann will be missed by UMKC and the School of Dentistry community. Visitation is at 3 p.m. Saturday with a Celebration of Life service at 4 p.m. at the Community Covenant Church, 15700 W. 87th St. Parkway, Lenexa.
