Kansas City, Mo. – The University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) College of Arts and Sciences‘ Department of Art and Art History presents the UMKC National Print Exhibition 2011. The opening reception will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8 at the Fine Arts Building’s Gallery of Art (Room 203), 5015 Holmes St., Kansas City, Mo., and the exhibition will run through Oct. 29. Organized by the Department of Art and Art History’s Hand Print Press, the exhibition includes works by artists around the country whose pieces combine a variety of media with traditional printmaking processes. Established in 1992, Hand Print Press offers artists and professional printmakers a state-of-the-art studio space for printmaking. The press also acts as a mentoring organization for younger artists interested in the creation of prints.
