Missouri River Home to Endangered Pallid Sturgeon

Listen to the story here.

More than 20 years after joining the endangered species list, the pallid sturgeon is treading water. Slicing through farm country, the Missouri River – home to a threatened pallid sturgeon population – is a piece of the vibrant farm economy. Officials are struggling to balance efforts to preserve the species without harming agriculture. This story was reported by Harvest Public Media.

Harvest Public Media, based at KCUR, is a collaborative public media project that reports on important agriculture issues in the Midwest. KCUR is a service of the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
