Notable STEM Mavens Honored for Achievements, Support of High-Tech Higher Education

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Computing and Engineering (SCE) will kick off its new recognition event – SCE Awards for Alumni and Friends – on April 20 with a reception in recognition of the SCE Awards’ inaugural class. The SCE Awards for Alumni and Friends will recognize a class of SCE alumni and corporate and community supporters each year for their outstanding achievements and exemplary support for the internationally recognized computing and engineering school.

“This is a great opportunity for us to recognize the key role that our alumni, corporate and community supporters play in making the School of Computing and Engineering the success that it is today. This first class of honorees is just an example of the outstanding leaders in computing and engineering that we have the opportunity to connect with every day,” said SCE Dean Kevin Z. Truman.

Four awards will be given in the categories of: SCE Young Alumni, SCE Supporter Award, SCE Company of the Year, and SCE STEM Outreach Partner of the Year. In addition to the four awards, honorary alumni status will be formally bestowed upon a retired SCE faculty member.
