Commencement Schedule Unchanged

A rapidly changing weather pattern has raised questions about Friday’s Commencement exercises at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. At this time, we have decided to keep the existing schedule intact: College of Arts and Sciences Ceremony at 1 p.m.; Multi-School Ceremony at 5 p.m.; both at Swinney Recreation Center.

The safety of our students, faculty, staff and guests is our primary concern. The decision to maintain the existing schedule is based on the best information available at this time. Should conditions change significantly enough to require a change in plans, we will transmit this information through every available channel, including the campus emergency alert system.

Commencement ceremonies will be livestreamed for the convenience of those who prefer to stay indoors.

The most recent forecast calls for rain to change to snow sometime between 3 and 5 p.m., with snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches on campus by midnight.
