UMKC’s weekly arts, culture and sports roundup

Every week, the University of Missouri-Kansas City offers an array of on-campus activities. It’s nothing new. UMKC has a long legacy of hosting countless culturally enriching events. These activities are part of what give UMKC a vibrant campus life, and make UMKC an arts and culture powerhouse. The influence of UMKC-based and UMKC-trained alumni extends well beyond the campus’ edge, so their activities are listed here as well.

Featured Event: “Journey’s End”

Set in the trenches at Saint-Quentin in 1918 toward the end of World War I, “Journey’s End” takes the audience into the dugout of a British Army infantry company.

The production is a joint partnership with the University of Missouri-Kansas City Theatre Department and the Kansas City Actors Theatre. Filled with finely-drawn characters, “Journey’s End” brings a starkly human perspective in a World War I tale.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. each night between Feb. 14 – March 2 except on Sundays and Mondays. Matinees are held at 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. National World War I Museum members receive a $5 discount on each ticket.

On March 1, all active duty military personnel will receive free admission to the 2 p.m. matinee after presenting identification. All veterans will receive a $10 discount on tickets (up to two tickets per veteran).
