Rain can’t dampen Chancellor’s Campus Lunch

The Chancellor’s Campus Lunch took place today on UMKC’s Volker campus. This annual event, hosted by Chancellor Leo E. Morton, is a great opportunity for members of the UMKC community to come together and enjoy a meal.

Despite the morning rain and the threat of more showers, the grills were fired up and the cooks prepared burgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers for attendees to enjoy. Diners chose from tables set up inside the Atterbury Student Success Center and Swinney Recreation Center, or outside in the grass.

The event was well attended by individuals from all parts of the university. Faculty, staff and students dined together and were served lunch by members of the university leadership team. The Chancellor himself wandered the lengthy lines of waiting diners and took time to chat with several of them.
