Kansas City offers several great organizations, groups, and services for our LGBTQIA community. Kansas City also has inclusive protections for sexual orientation and gender identity in their local laws. Here is a list of some great community organizations.


Passages: Kansas City’s LGBT Youth Center

Perform OutKC


Passages is Kansas City’s only youth center dedicated to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning youth, and straight allies, operating now for over 23 years! We are open every Wednesday night from 5:30 to 9 PM to ages 14 to 20.

POKC, established in 2008 as an educational-outreach performing arts program for LGBTQIA youth ages 14-22. Their purpose is to provide a safe and supportive place for youth to assist in the development of a positive image through self-exploration with hopes of seek self-reward.

 Young people of all gender identities and sexual orientations deserve access to the tools to be healthy, empowered members of their communities. EQUAL enables the next generation of social justice leaders dedicated to ending all forms of oppression.

Kansas City Anti-Violence Project


The Kansas City Anti-Violence Project (KCAVP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation committed to providing domestic violence, sexual assault, and hate crimesadvocacy and education to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community.  

PROMO - Promoting Equality for all Missourians
PROMO is Missouri’s statewide organization advocating for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender equality through legislative action, electoral politics, grassroots organizing, and community education.

 Good Samaritan Project
The Mission of Good Samaritan Project (GSP) is to provide advocacy, care and education to those affected by HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs).



Just as it was formed to do in 1971, the Kansas City CARE Clinic exists to promote health and wellness by providing quality care, access, research and education to the underserved and all people in our community. Today the clinic provides health care services in general medicine, HIV prevention and primary care, behavioral health, and dentistry.

 PFLAG Kansas City
PFLAG Kansas City offers help for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQIA) youth, their families, and communities around the topics of sexual orientation and gender identity.


AIDS WALK Kansas City is the primary fundraising event of the AIDS Service Foundation. AIDS WALK is coming off one a very successful event cycle, having raised nearly $500,000 last year! Since 1988, AIDS WALK Kansas City has raised nearly $8.5 million for local AIDS service organizations.
When you raise money and awareness for AIDS WALK, you help local organizations receive funding crucial to the success of their HIV/AIDS programs.

Mid America Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce

Latino Gay Pride KC

The Mid-America Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (Mid-America GLCC) is an organization that advocates, promotes and facilitates the success of the LGBT business community and their allies through the guiding principles of equality, inclusion, economics and education.

 Gay Pride Kansas City
Gay Pride Kansas City is a mix of volunteers and board members who represent a wide cross section of the Kansas City LGBTQIA community.  What motivates these individuals is their drive to offer the Kansas City LGBTQIA community great informational and educational events which move the community forward.
