Cyprienne Simchowitz (’87), a Kansas City lawyer and international business consultant, was knighted last month by the president of the French Republic. Simchowitz, who is also president of the Alliance Française de Kansas City, is a native of France.
Others knighted at the same time included a French filmmaker and a Supreme Court judge in British Columbia.
Simchowitz’s work with the Alliance provides her an opportunity to stay connected to her “culture of origin and to people who likewise enjoy sharing its beauty and relevance with the Kansas City community,” according to her bio on the Alliance’s website.
For more than 20 years, Simchowitz has worked as a lawyer and consultant, helping businesses in the U.S. and abroad connect and learn about each other. As a member of AFKC’s board of directors and now president, she works to develop and strengthen the bonds between France and the U.S.
