Culture Night

Culture Night is the biggest event on campus organized by the International Student Ambassadors and ISAO. Last year we hosted more than 1,500 students and KC community members.
Event Schedule:
5:00-7:00pm at Pierson Auditorium in Atterbury Student Success Center: Taste a variety of ethnic food for FREE and learn about cultures and traditions at multiple student exhibits.
7:00-9:00pm at Swinney Recreation Center: Enjoy cultural performances and an eye catching fashion show of traditional apparel from around the world.
It’s the time to promote your culture and introduce it to UMKC community. Here’s some of the ways you can participate:
- Food Contest: By bringing a dish from your country, you will be able to share your culture as well as showcase your cooking skills with a chance to win prizes.
- UMKC’s Got International Talent: (prize giveaway). You can show off your talent (singing, dancing, acting, playing an instrument, etc) and any other cultural performers.
- Ethnic fashion show: This is a wonderful opportunity to show off beautiful fabrics and designs of your culture. Dress to impress!
- Set up a booth: Reserve a space in the room (ASSC) to showcase artifacts, items, food, and souvenirs from your country.
- Volunteer: We need volunteers to help with the set-up, decorations, serving and organizing food, etc. You will receive a volunteer certificate at the end of the event.
