Focus Group Discussion
You are invited to participate in a focus group discussion about your experiences with undergraduate writing. Eligible participants will be current UMKC undergraduate students available to attend one of the five focus groups. All current UMKC undergraduate students – freshman through senior – are encouraged to attend. Focus groups will last approximately 60 minutes. Pizza from Pizza 51 and beverages will be provided. Your opinions and experiences matter. The information you provide will be used to help identify and improve current writing initiatives on campus and to better support student writing achievement. While participation is voluntary, we hope to see you there.

Court Warming 2017
Students can come to the Office of Student Involvement during every themed day of the Court Warming week dressed as their favorite character from their favorite movie to enter to win prizes. The winner of each day will be picked at the end of the week.
Play trivia against your fellow UMKC students. Questions will be about famous movies. Four members per team. Prizes will be awarded to top 3 teams.
Candidates will put together skits related to the famous movies and their own talents. Judging will be based on talent, incorporation of Court Warming theme, and creativity.

Any near or recent grads are welcome to join an info session next Thursday, February 9th from 3:30 – 4:30 pm in ASSC 236. Our UMKC Alumni who are part of the first cohort of residents will be there to share more about what they do.

Who is eligible to apply?
• Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Minimum 2.8 overall grade point average
• Make a three-year commitment to teaching in a high need public school
• Be a US citizen or permanent resident
