Editorial Internship Program – 435 Magazine

Full Job Description

Kansas City offers editorial internship positions all year in three-month programs of 20 hours per week. Internships are hands-on and involve a variety of responsibilities as well as the opportunity to regularly interact with the editorial staff. 

Primary duties include fact-checking stories, contributing research to larger stories and feature packages, and writing shorter stories for the front of the book and dining sections. Interns also enter descriptions for the calendar and dining listings sections and write web exclusives for 435mag.com. 

We offer an honorarium of $250/per month. 

Please note: We can only accept applicants who are enrolled in an educational institution where they will receive school credit for completing an internship.

Sports Intern – Sports concentration in news department – 2019 fall semester only

Intern will work under the supervision of the Sports Department and the Executive Producer.  Intern will learn to write news stories and work on high school football Friday night program. Instruction is also provided in making graphics for stories and shooting and editing sports video, plus producing digital content for online and social.  Applicants must be college junior/senior or graduate level students.
