Want to sing with UMKC? Join the University Singers for the 2016-2017 season!

University Singers is opening to the public for the 2016-2017 season. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings from 7:00-9:00pm in Grant Hall room 122. There is no cost or fee to join!

Performance opportunities for the 2016-2017 season include Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem at Atonement Lutheran Church conducted by Robert Bode, the annual “Season for Giving” benefit concert for Harvester’s Community Food Bank at Visitation Catholic Church, a Spring Choral Concert combined with Canticum Novum at Village Presbyterian Church, and the Conservatory Artist Series Finale Concert conducted by Dr. Robert Bode with the UMKC Symphony Orchestra in the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.

About University Singers

Conducted by Mr. John McDonald and Mr. Joshua Maize, under the supervision of Dr. Robert Bode
John McDonald, MM, is in his third year of studies for the Doctorate of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting.

Joshua Maize, MM, is in his second year of studies for the Doctorate of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting.


This is a mixed ensemble specializing in the performance of classical choral masterworks, conducted by graduate choral conducting students under the supervision of Dr. Robert Bode.  This course meets 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Thursdays. Open to all students by audition. Non-Conservatory students with choral experience are encouraged to audition.
