Our second-year architecture students just returned from the annual UMKC/KSU architectural tour of Dallas/Ft. Worth (with a brief stop in Oklahoma City). The trip joins our students together with their future classmates: the second-year architecture students at Kansas State University. (Our students transfer to KSU in their third year.)
About two weeks of sight-seeing is packed into four days: we see the Oklahoma City Memorial, Pei’s Crystal Bridge Botanical Center, Johansen’s Stage Center Theater, Cunningham’s Cistercian Abbey Chapel, Kahn’s Kimball Museum, Ando’s Modern Museum, Johnson’s Amon Carter Museum, Meier’s Rachofsky House, Foster’s Winspear Opera House, OMA/REX’s Wyle Theater, Piano’s Nasher Sculpture Center and Legoretta’s Latino Cultural Center . . . not to mention a lot of other things in the surrounding area.
The pictures here show the students going to see a show at the Winspear called “In The Heights”. If you’d like to see more, check out the calendar above for an evening slideshow on Monday, April 30th.
