Site administrators have complete control of the site and can upload new themes and plugins. Site administrators are also responsible for applying updates, though WordPress does have an auto-update option for core software patches and theme/plugin updates which is highly recommended.

Shared WordPress Servers:

• info.umkc.edu: This is UMKC’s production server and is used for public facing sites.

• infodev.umkc.edu: This is UMKC’s development server and can be used to test out new themes, plugins and content. Please note that any customizations, content created on this server will need to be manually recreated on production. Infodev.umkc.edu sites are only viewable from campus or by using the UMKC VPN. To request a site on this sever, please select “YES” for the Dev Site Needed option.
